🧑

Steve

Default Player

The iconic default player character of Minecraft. Blocky, blue-shirted, and capable of punching trees with his bare hands. Steve represents every player's blank-slate avatar — able to build, mine, craft, and survive anything the world throws at him.

👩

Alex

Default Player (Female)

The second default player skin introduced in 2014. Alex has bright orange hair and a thinner build than Steve. Represents the game's diversity of player expression and has become equally iconic as the co-face of Minecraft alongside Steve.

💥

Creeper

Hostile Mob

The most iconic Minecraft mob — a silent, green, exploding creature that hisses before detonating. Created by accident when Notch misflipped a pig's dimensions. The Creeper became the symbol of Minecraft and one of gaming's most recognizable characters ever.

👁

Enderman

Hostile Mob

Tall, dark, silent creatures from The End who teleport and become hostile when looked at directly. Inspired by the Slender Man myth. Their haunting screech and eye-contact mechanic create unique tension. They carry blocks and are drawn to Eyes of Ender.

🏹

Skeleton

Undead Archer

Undead archers that spawn at night and in dark areas. Their accurate bows and infinite arrow supply make them one of Minecraft's most dangerous early-game threats. Burn in daylight and can be equipped with armor. Stray variant appears in snowy biomes.

🧟

Zombie

Undead Mob

Classic undead mobs that burn in daylight and hunt players at night. Can turn villagers into Zombie Villagers and call reinforcements when attacked. Come in many variants: Baby Zombies, Husks, Drowned. Drops rotten flesh and occasionally rare items.

🐉

Ender Dragon

Final Boss

The final boss of Minecraft found in The End dimension. A massive purple-black dragon that circles above End pillars. Players must destroy its End Crystals to deplete its health. Defeating it awards the Dragon Egg and triggers the End Poem credits sequence.

💀

Wither

Summoned Boss

A three-headed floating undead boss summoned by players using Soul Sand and Wither Skeleton skulls. Shoots explosive Wither Skulls and inflicts the Wither status effect. One of the game's hardest challenges. Drops the Nether Star used to craft the Beacon.

🧑‍🌾

Villager

Passive NPC

Neutral NPCs living in villages who trade goods for emeralds. Each villager has a profession (Farmer, Librarian, Blacksmith, etc.) determining their trades. Their distinctive "hmm" sound and large noses are iconic. Zombie Villagers can be cured back to normal.

👻

Herobrine

Minecraft Legend

The most famous Minecraft myth — a figure identical to Steve but with blank white eyes. Never officially in the game, yet Notch's patch notes always included "Removed Herobrine." A cornerstone of Minecraft's creepypasta culture and internet mythology.

🐷

Piglin

Nether Mob

Pig-like inhabitants of the Nether who are neutral toward gold-wearing players. Can be bartered with using gold ingots for various items. Zombify when exposed to the Overworld. Brute variant guards bastions. Central to Nether trading and survival strategies.

🦎

Axolotl

Aquatic Mob

Adorable aquatic creatures added in the 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update. Can be carried in buckets and fight alongside players against other aquatic mobs. Come in multiple colors including the extremely rare blue variant. Instantly became fan-favorites for their cute design.
