Roblox Characters

Roblox is a platform, not one game, so its characters come from two places: the classic avatars and legends of the platform itself, and the monsters and mascots of its most popular experiences. This guide covers both.

Roblox launched in 2006, founded by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel, as a place where anyone can build games out of blocks and share them. It's now one of the most played platforms in the world, especially with children and teenagers, and almost everything on it is made by its users. That means there's no single Roblox cast. There's the blocky avatar everyone shares, a handful of old accounts and urban legends that became folklore, and the characters of individual hit experiences.

People searching for "Roblox characters" usually want one of those three, so this page is organised that way. It starts with the classic avatars, moves to the legends the community still talks about, and ends with the best-known characters from DOORS, Piggy, Rainbow Friends, Forsaken and other experiences.

Classic Roblox avatars

These are the looks that every long-time player recognises. None of them have a story, but each says something about the platform's culture.

Bacon Hair

Default avatar with Pal Hair

Later default avatars came with a free reddish-brown hairstyle called Pal Hair, which looks a bit like a strip of bacon. "Bacon Hair" became the new word for a newcomer. Like the Noob, it's now a beloved stock character in Roblox videos and stories.

Guest

Anonymous visitor

Before 2017, you could play some games without an account as a Guest: a plain avatar labelled "Guest" and a number. Guests were removed in 2017, which made them instantly nostalgic. Guest 1337, a battle-hardened version of the idea, is now a character in Forsaken.

The Robloxian

Base avatar body

The Robloxian is the blocky humanoid body all avatars share, with a square head, rectangular limbs and a simple smiley face. Players customise it with clothes, accessories and newer body styles. Its silhouette is the platform's real logo.

Builderman

Co-founder's avatar

Builderman is the account associated with David Baszucki, Roblox's co-founder. The avatar's hard hat matches the platform's building-first idea, and it has long been one of the most familiar faces on the site. In fan games and Forsaken he appears as a heroic engineer figure.

Shedletsky

Early staff member's avatar

Shedletsky is the avatar of John Shedletsky, an early Roblox employee who made some of the platform's first popular games. His avatar is closely linked in fan culture to swords and fried chicken. He's a survivor in Forsaken and one of the most-referenced old-school figures.

Roblox legends and myths

Every platform grows its own folklore. Roblox's legends are mostly about hackers, and several have become full characters in recent games.

John Doe and Jane Doe

Test accounts turned myth

John Doe and Jane Doe were early test accounts. A widely shared hoax claimed John Doe would hack Roblox on a particular date, and nothing happened, but the rumour turned the faceless account into a creepypasta villain. John Doe is now one of the killers in Forsaken.

1x1x1x1

Legendary hacker

1x1x1x1 is an old account that grew into a story about a hacker who spreads chaos through games. The name and its glitchy look became Roblox's best-known myth. Like John Doe, 1x1x1x1 is a killer in Forsaken.

c00lkidd

Exploiter turned villain

c00lkidd is linked to a real wave of game defacements that spread red-and-black "team c00lkidd" pages through popular games. The community remembered it as a villain, and Forsaken turned it into a playful, childlike killer character.

DOORS

DOORS, by LSPLASH, is a horror game set in a hotel where you open door after door and react to whatever comes through. Its monsters, called entities, each have one rule you must learn to survive them. It's one of Roblox's most influential horror experiences.

Seek

DOORS · Chase entity

Seek is a black, humanoid figure with a single large eye. Before it arrives, the walls fill with staring eyes, and then it chases you through a run of rooms full of obstacles. It's the entity most people picture when they think of DOORS.

Figure

DOORS · Library and door 100

Figure is a tall, blind creature that hunts entirely by sound. You meet it in the library, where you solve a puzzle while crouching and hiding, and again at the game's climax. Keeping quiet is the only defence.

Rush

DOORS · Hallway sprinter

Rush announces itself by making the lights flicker, then roars through the rooms. You have a few seconds to hide in a closet or under a bed.

Ambush

DOORS · Repeat attacker

Ambush works like Rush but comes back, again and again, sometimes several times in a row. Getting out of the closet too early is how most players die to it.

Screech

DOORS · Dark rooms

Screech lurks in unlit rooms. When you hear it, turn and look at it before it bites.

Halt

DOORS · Corridor

Halt appears in a long corridor and tells you when to turn around and walk the other way. Follow its timing and you get through.

Eyes

DOORS · Room hazard

Eyes is a glowing cluster of eyes that damages anyone who looks at it. You complete the room while looking away.

Jeff and Guiding Light

DOORS · Friendly characters

Jeff runs the shop where you buy items before a run. Guiding Light is a gentle blue presence that explains what killed you, which is how most players learn each entity's rule.

Piggy and Rainbow Friends

These two horror experiences helped make cartoon mascot horror one of Roblox's biggest genres, the same wave that later produced Dandy's World.

Piggy

Piggy · Title villain

Piggy, created by MiniToon, is a cartoon pig with a baseball bat who stalks players through house-like maps while they solve escape puzzles. The game grew a long, surprisingly involved story over many chapters about an infection spreading through a town.

George and Mr. P

Piggy · Piggy's family

George is Piggy's little brother, and Mr. P is another member of the pig family. Both appear as infected chasers as well as story characters, and their fates are part of what kept players coming back for each new chapter.

Zizzy and Pony

Piggy · Survivors

Zizzy, a zebra, and Pony are two of the main survivor characters in Piggy's story. They're among the most popular skins, and the story gives them real friendship and loss.

Blue

Rainbow Friends · First monster

Blue is a huge, drooling blue creature wearing a crown, and the first monster you meet in Rainbow Friends. You hide in boxes when he wanders past.

Green, Orange and Purple

Rainbow Friends · Monsters

Green is blind and hunts by touch with long arms. Orange is a fast lizard-like creature that must be kept fed. Purple lurks in the vents. Each one changes how you move around the amusement park.

Forsaken

Forsaken is an asymmetrical horror game where one player is a killer and the rest are survivors, built almost entirely from Roblox history. It's where many of the legends above came back to life as playable characters.

  • Killers include c00lkidd, John Doe, 1x1x1x1 and original characters such as Noli.
  • Survivors include Shedletsky, Builderman, Guest 1337, Chance, Elliot, Two Time and 007n7, each with their own abilities.

The roster changes with updates, and the game's lore keeps adding connections between characters, which is why it's become a fan-art favourite.

Characters from other Roblox experiences

Not every hit Roblox game is horror. These experiences are known for their creatures and cast rather than named heroes:

  • Adopt Me!: a pet-raising game where the pets are the stars. Legendary pets like the Shadow Dragon, Frost Dragon and Bat Dragon became famous trading items.
  • Brookhaven RP: a town roleplay game with no fixed characters at all; players invent everything.
  • Blox Fruits: a sea-adventure game whose devil-fruit powers draw obvious inspiration from One Piece.
  • Steal a Brainrot: a 2025 hit built on the Italian brainrot characters, from Tung Tung Tung Sahur to Tralalero Tralala.
  • 99 Nights in the Forest: a 2025 survival game where players defend a campfire from the Deer and rescue lost children.
  • Dandy's World: a co-op mascot-horror game with a big cast of Toons; see our Dandy's World characters page.

Why Roblox characters spread so fast

Roblox characters live or die by how easily they can be drawn, joked about and remixed. The Noob is three colored blocks. Seek is one eye. Piggy is a pig with a bat. That simplicity is the same thing that made the Among Us Crewmate and the Minecraft Creeper spread, and it's why Roblox culture moves so quickly between games, YouTube animations and memes. You'll see the same pattern in the mascot-horror world of Five Nights at Freddy's, which shaped a lot of Roblox horror.

Frequently asked questions

What is the default Roblox character called?

Players call the classic default avatar the Noob: a blocky figure with a yellow head and arms, a blue torso and green legs. Newer default avatars with the red "Pal Hair" gave rise to the nickname Bacon Hair. Officially, the avatar shape is just a Robloxian.

Who is the most famous Roblox character?

The Noob is the most recognisable, because it was the default look for years. Among named figures, Builderman and Shedletsky are the classic staff avatars, and among game characters, DOORS's Seek and Figure and Piggy are some of the best known.

Who are the monsters in Roblox DOORS?

DOORS calls them entities. The main ones are Rush, Ambush, Seek, Figure, Screech, Halt and Eyes, each with its own rule for surviving it. Jeff runs the pre-run shop, and Guiding Light offers advice after you die.

Who are the killers in Forsaken?

Forsaken's killers are drawn from old Roblox legends, including c00lkidd, John Doe and 1x1x1x1, alongside original characters. Its survivors include classic figures like Shedletsky, Builderman and Guest 1337. The roster changes with updates.

Is Builderman a real person?

Builderman is the avatar associated with David Baszucki, Roblox's co-founder and CEO. It's a real account, but the hard-hat character has taken on a life of its own in the community as a kind of platform mascot.
